Exhibition Text
The Dark Current

Shown for the first time in Aotearoa New Zealand at Dunedin Public Art Gallery, The Dark Current is an ambitious production that weaves together Tiatia’s matrilineal heritage, Sāmoan culture, and Pacific myth-making to chart a new path forward.

The Dark Current was originally commissioned by The Ian Potter Cultural Trust under the Ian Potter Moving Image Commission for exhibition by ACMI (Australian Centre for Moving Image).

Sullivan+Strumpf acknowledge the Indigenous People of this land, the traditional custodians on whose Country we work, live and learn. We pay respect to Elders, past and present, and recognise their continued connection to culture, land, waters and community.
