Exhibition Text

Recently opened, at Hobart's celebrated Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), Namedropping features over 200 artworks and objects by renowned artists. Polly Borland's famed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II features among works by Francis Bacon, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Ai Weiwei, Elizabeth Peyton, Cornelia Parker and many others.

Commissioned for the Golden Jubilee in 2002, Borland was invited to photograph The Queen, chosen for her skill in capturing her subjects in the moment that they let down their guard.
