Jeremy Sharma (b. 1977, Singapore) is a multidisciplinary artist who works around ideas of aesthetics and production. His practice investigates various modes of enquiry in the information age, addressing our present relationship to modernity and interconnectivity in the everyday and our place in an increasingly fragmented and artificial reality. In his current practice, Sharma explores the production of time and place and the conditions of this production.
Over the past decade, Jeremy Sharma has exhibited widely nationally and internationally. Major exhibitions include Singapore-Mexico Cross Cultural Exchange: A Post Residency Exhibition, Fundación Sebastián, Mexico City (2015); Going, going, until I meet the tide, Busan Biennale, Korea (2014); Terra Sensa, Singapore Biennale, Singapore (2013); Exposition, Grey Projects, Singapore (2013); Apropos, Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore (2012); 14th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Bangladesh (2010); Athlete, Bangkok and US Premiere, The 5th Bangkok Experimental Film Festival, Thailand (2008); and Insomnia: KYTV presents: The P.O.P Station plus Tiramisu, The Singapore Season London 2005 by TheatreWorks, The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2005). His work has also been shown in numerous group exhibitions across Southeast Asia, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Italy, England and the United States.
His work has been the subject of critical discussion in various print and online publications including Asian Art News, ArtAsiaPacific and Wall Street International and is part of a number of public and private collections.
